About Us
Vivonté Cigars was born from a simple belief: that the finest cigars in the world are not manufactured, they are cultivated through patience, relationships, and respect for tradition. In the Dominican Republic, where some of the world’s most revered tobacco is grown, we found more than fertile soil. We found a culture built around craft. Farmers who know their fields by heart. Rollers who learned their trade from parents and grandparents. Tobacco that carries the story of the land it came from. Vivonté was created to honour that tradition and bring it to a new generation of cigar lovers around the world.
From passion to perfection.
The company was originally founded by Canadian entrepreneurs Glen Hamilton, Sterling Hamilton, and Austin Hamilton, who spent more than a decade immersed in the Dominican cigar world before formally launching the brand. What began as a passion project quickly evolved into a boutique cigar house built on long-term partnerships with Dominican growers, blenders, and master rollers. Rather than chasing scale, Vivonté focused on something rarer in today’s market: authenticity. Every blend begins with the leaf, and every cigar is produced with the same patience and attention that have defined the Dominican cigar tradition for generations.
It takes 10,000 hands to make a cigar.
At the heart of Vivonté is the belief that great cigars begin long before the tobacco reaches the rolling table. It begins in the fields, where tobacco is planted, harvested, and cured under the watchful eyes of growers who have spent their lives perfecting the craft. It continues in the fermentation rooms, where time and experience shape the character of each leaf. And it finishes in the hands of skilled torcedores who transform that tobacco into cigars meant to be savored slowly, shared among friends, and remembered long after the final draw.

Today, Vivonté produces a range of blends designed to celebrate the diversity of Dominican tobacco while remaining true to the principles that started the company: quality, integrity, and craftsmanship. From smooth and refined profiles to richer, more complex expressions, each cigar is blended to deliver balance, consistency, and a sense of place. Our goal is simple—to create cigars that smokers return to again and again not because of hype, but because of the experience.
